Abstract
The present case describes root canal treatment in a maxillary first molar with unusual anatomy of MB3 canal in one arch and Taurodontism on the contralateral arch. Understanding the differences in root canal morphology is crucial to the success of endodontic treatment. Taurodontism in the contralateral maxillary molar is an uncommon condition. A male patient was referred for the treatment of maxillary right and left first molar tooth. Clinical examination of the pulpal floor revealed 3 orifices in the mesio-buccal root in #16 while Taurodontism in #26. The tooth was treated successfully. Anatomic variations must be taken into consideration in clinical and radiographic evaluation during endodontic treatment.
